At ACMS we are in dyer need of new pickleball nets. We play the sport and the kids love it! Our nets are old and the poles to hold the nets are hard to move. A new set of 8 sets of nets will improve our capability of having a better experience for ALL of our students here at ACMS. They will be taken care of and put away at the end of each day. These nets should last a long time with us.
The benefits of pickleball is hand eye coordination, working with teammates, and learning the rules for life long learning. This game is an activity that our youth can play for the entire lives and I want to get them started early with good equipment. Our students work hard in class and I would like to reward them with nice equipment. Our future students will be able to use these nets as well.
Success will be measured with the amount of activity we get from the students while in PE class. I have already noticed that when our equipment is nice and well taken care of, the kids play harder. The students enjoy the nice equipment we have for other activities and their output is higher during those lessons. Success equals strong activity by our students! We will see this by observation from the PE teachers.
This grant will be implemented once the nets arrive and are put together. They can be used inside or outside. We would have them out by this May if they arrive in time! We have a pickleball unit yearly, and at other times we bring pickleball out for the kids that want to play. They love it!
These nets will be used with all grades and all students in PE. The three PE teachers will all use these nets. If a classroom teacher would like to use them for their class, we can make that happen as well.
Our school budget is what we use and have depleted it for this school year.
Having these nets will elevate our program in physical education. Having great equipment assists in our teaching and the students see this. These wonderful kids deserve to have the best equipment and our set of pickleball nets are old. With your help we can improve with what we already do! Thank you for your consideration.
