The purpose of this grant is to purchase two art drying racks for each classroom hallway at Donner Trail.
Teachers at Donner Trail incorporate weekly art projects that connect across the curriculum. Each Friday, each seek to teach an art lesson in connection to their learning from another subject or a specific art technique, or artist. Currently we dry student artwork using butcher paper on various surfaces. We would offer students and staff a safe and organized space to store their art projects while they dry.
The success of the program will be measured by the ease in which students can complete their art projects, store them independently, and clean up from the project.
Two tower drying racks will be purchased. A drying rack would be placed in the hallway of each of the wings of classrooms for students' weekly use.
The entire school will share the materials of this grant.
