Benefits of Program
These games will be used to promote critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and advanced reasoning skills. By incorporating engaging, hands-on learning tools, students will have opportunities to develop logic, creativity, and social interaction in a meaningful and enriching way beyond the traditional curriculum
Success of Program
Success will be measured through student engagement, collaboration, and the development of higher-order thinking skills. Students will demonstrate success by actively participating in gameplay, communicating effectively with peers, and showing increased ability to take on leadership roles. Additionally, students will work collaboratively to solve problems, make strategic decisions, and apply critical thinking skills. Informal observations, student reflections, and teacher feedback will be used to monitor growth in these areas over time
Implementation
Board games will be implemented as a structured part of the GATE curriculum through small group rotations and enrichment blocks. Students will engage in carefully selected, strategy-based games that align with critical thinking and problem-solving goals. Each session will include clear expectations, assigned roles (such as facilitator, recorder, or strategist), and guided reflection.

Yes, the grant will benefit all teachers. As a sixth-grade team, we collaborate closely and share materials and resources. The board games will be accessible to all team members, allowing multiple classrooms to integrate them into instruction. This shared approach ensures consistency, maximizes the use of the materials, and provides all GATE students with equitable opportunities to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
