Description

I would love a grant to expand my classroom library. I would use the grant money to buy books for my classroom library and books to use for read alouds to my students. I would also use the money to purchase a bookshelf with a bench to create a relaxing reading nook for my students.

Benefits of Program

Students would benefit from this grant because they would have access to a variety of books in our classroom. Having a variety of books exposed children to many different kinds of books and they are able to choose books that sparks their interests. I love when students enjoy reading and I love to see them having a classroom library that is a space of joy!

My students would also benefit from this grant because I will have a large variety of books to use during whole group read alouds. I do 1-2 read alouds every day to model how to read a story, to promote whole group discussions with my students, to teach a topic for a unit we are studying, and so much more!

Implementation

I would use this grant to buy books for my classroom library and for my teacher read aloud resources. I would also share these books with my fellow team members and school staff!

Can you share this grant with your grade level or subject team?

Yes!  I will definitely share books with my grade level team. We teach the same things and units, so these books would be beneficial for my teammates as well.

Sustainability
I will use these books for my entire career as a teacher!
