This grant will support the replacement of essential culinary classroom equipment that is worn out or no longer functioning properly. Requested items include standing mixers, food processors, immersion blenders, pots, skillets, storage containers, aprons and cutting boards. These tools are necessary for students to safely and effectively participate in hands-on culinary labs.
This grant will benefit students by ensuring they have safe, reliable, and functional equipment to use during hands-on culinary labs. With updated tools, students will be able to fully participate in lessons, practice essential cooking skills, and work more efficiently and confidently. Access to proper equipment supports a better learning environment and helps students build real-world culinary skills.
The anticipated outcomes of this grant are increased student participation in labs, better skill development, and a safer, more efficient classroom environment. When students have working equipment, they’re able to fully participate and complete recipes the way they’re supposed to.
Success will be measured by how consistently students are able to participate in labs, the overall quality of their work, and fewer issues caused by broken or missing equipment. I’ll also be able to see success through smoother lab days and students being more confident and engaged.
I will implement this grant by purchasing the replacement equipment and utensils and putting them directly into use in my culinary classroom. The new items will replace broken or worn-out tools so students can safely and effectively participate in daily labs. I will continue using my current classroom routines and procedures, with the updated equipment supporting smoother, more successful lab experiences for students.
NA. I am the sole Culinary program at THS.
I receive Perkins funding each year, which I use to support and improve the Culinary program. This year, for example, I purchased a countertop burner, fryer, meat thermometers, and 12" non-stick skillets.
I apologize for not entering the items in the “Individual Budget” section. I did attempt to complete it, but my entries were repeatedly rejected. As this is my first time completing this grant process, I did not allow enough time to fully learn how to properly input the information. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
