This is a series of standards based English Language Arts and mathematics games that apply to multiple academic needs. Playing games allows students to practice reading and math skills in a fun way. Kids love to play with each other! They are learning and don't realize it.
This grant will benefit all students in 1st grade. We share resources among the 1st grade classes. 2nd grade has an opportunity to borrow the games for remediation and review for their students.
Success will be that students are able to play the game independently and accurately. They should be able to apply the game skills to other areas in the day.
These will be used in two ways. I will use them in small groups with a parent volunteer or an older student. Or we will use them in class during our math/ELA instructional block to have students work together in a fun and engaging way.
Yes, I can share the games with 1st grade and 2nd grade.
Yes, I spoke with Ryan about site funds. Currently our site funds are used for decodable texts and math supplies for our new math curriculum. Site funds do not cover games at this time.
