This grant is asking for a full set of Marcy Cook time, money, application and world problem packets. They are interactive, hands-on activities where students use the visual information provided to manipulate number values to make true equations. They progress from 1st through 8th grade level difficulty.
These activities are a hands-on support to help students build their math skills. The visuals help make math more meaningful, and instruction is differentiated because there is such a range of levels available. These activities reinforce math concepts and provide extra challenge during independent task time/centers. It also helps us to quickly assess students' math understanding.
We would consider the grant successful if we saw students meaningfully engaging with the materials provided. We currently have a full set of the counting, addition and subtraction packets but we don't have a packets to support time, money and word problems. Students currently are enthusiastic about completing levels and "graduation" to the next hardest concept.
We will provide opportunities for students to use these supplies during math centers and/or during independent work time.
Yes, we can share it with the whole school too!
No, but we did get the counting, addition and subtraction packet funded last year through Excellence in Ed.
