Renee Collins and and I would like to purchase 10 Spikeball sets and this growing craze to our Elective PE class units.
The Elective Physical Education Class at Truckee High School is designed to help students find activities that they both enjoy and can participate in for the rest of their lives. The Strength Development and Performance Enhancement classes designed by Bob Shaffer help students design and monitor their own physical fitness. The Elective PE class introduces students to lifelong sports. Frisbee, Basketball, Lacrosse, Badminton and pickleball to name a few. We added Lacrosse last year and this year we would like to add the growing sport called Spikeball as a new unit.
The Physical Education classes at Truckee High School have been some of the most popular class for nearly 20 years thanks to Coach Shaffer. Boys and girls both fill these classes every year. As a new avenue for the students, Mrs Collins added Dance fitness last year and the numbers have continued to grow. Mrs Collins and I have been talking all year about how to add some new and exciting activties to the Elective PE classes. This new game is taking the nation by storm and we would love to add it.
This new unit would be added to our 9 week classes. Therefore this new activity and the Spikeball sets would be used for a minimum of 8 units every year between the two of us. It would be a great indoor sport during the winter but it can also be moved outside during the fall and spring.
Yes. all PE teachers would have access to the sets and they would be shared by all 4 PE teachers.
